One hour online class on how to use TI 89 Titanium calculator to solve Mathcounts Target round, team round and Handbook Workout problems.

Virtural TI 89 Titanium will be used to teach  with ZOOM software so students can see the use of the calculator on the screen.

The following topics will be taught:

TOPICS

1. Know your calculator (Some useful shortcuts)

2. Basic Arithmetic Calculations (square root, exponent, cube roots and other radicals, absolute values, permutations and combinations)

3. Basic Algebra Calculations   (simplify rational functions, polynomials, factoring, expanding, long division,partial fraction decomposition, evaluating an expression)

4. Solving an equation (linear equations, literal equations, exponents equations, rational equations, Diophantine equations)

5. Solving a system of equations

Sample problems:
