Boiling water

A physicist and a mathematician are given a task: to boil water in a tea pot.
They are both given a tea pot full of water.
So they both put it on a stove and boil it for 10 minutes.

Now the problem becomes more complicated:  The tea pot filled with water half full is standing
on the stove. The task is the same.

PHYSICIST: turns on a fire and heats the water for  5 minutes.
MATHEMATICIAN: Fill  the water to full and boil it for 10 minutes (the problem is reduced to the previous one that he has the experience and knows how to solve).
